Kirsty Jensen

Kirsty Jensen

Kangatraining Instructor

“From the very first class I walked in and I found a little piece of my old self again. There was moving, there was music and my little one was happy. It had been a long time since I felt like myself again, and I just wanted to bring that to other mums who are maybe not quite feeling themself in motherhood.”

Kylie Lau

Kangatraining Instructor

“I really love being able to do something with my kids. Every single of them has come and been a part of the class with me. I also really like the exercise aspect as I don’t do any other type of exercise except for Kangatraining. I really love the social side, it’s not intense socialising, you can be as social as you want to.”

Mel Reed

Kangatraining Instructor

I am so in love with this “job” where I can take my baby to “work” with me, connect with other mamas and their babies, build a beautiful, supportive community around me and contribute to my family.”

FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

What are the prerequisites for becoming a Kangatraining instructor?

To become a Kangatraining instructor, you should have a passion for joyful and healthy movement and a desire to support mums and their babies in their postnatal fitness journey. While a background in fitness or a related field is beneficial, it is not mandatory. However, you must be committed to completing the Kangatraining instructor certification course, acquiring a basic knowledge of safe and high quality postnatal health and fitness knowledge, and continuing your professional development in these areas. Additionally, obtaining a first aid certification is needed to commence classes. Being enthusiastic, approachable, and supportive are key traits for a successful Kangatraining instructor.

What does the Kangatraining instructor certification course involve?

After fine tuning your territory with our Country Leader, you then complete 6 hours of self paced learning. You will watch training sessions on anatomy with our physiotherapist, a midwife focusing on the impact of pregnancy and labour, and a marketing session on how to have the best start to your business. From there, you will attend either in person or live via Zoom a 3 day training focusing on babywearing and all the Kangatraining theory and practical learning so you can start your classes with ease.

Following this, you will complete an open book theory exam, a recorded babywearing exam and Kangatraining class.

Are there any ongoing requirements to maintain my certification?

Yes, you will need to keep your First Aid Certification up to date as well as complete the requirements for our Continuing Professional Development program to ensure best practices, develop skills and new opportunities as well as boost your confidence and feel supported within your business. We make this fun and easy to achieve!

What support will I receive after becoming certified?

You will receive access to all our previous professional development sessions as well as access to the Australian and Global Kangatraining Instructor Facebook Groups full of enthusiastic and ready to help fellow trainers around the country and the world.
